Summer Reflections: Looking Back and Planning Forward

Where did the Summer go? For some of us it may feel like we did not have one, with the weather being so bad (in places) and outdoor events affected by the unpredictable weather that happened this season.

September is the ninth month of the year and marks a transition period between seasons where Autumn begins with the autumnal equinox, typically occurring around 22nd or 23rd September when the leaves begin to change colours as temperatures cool with shorter days and longer nights.

Transition can be perceived as a positive opportunity, a time to reflect and look forward as the last part of the year gets very busy for a lot of people, with new beginnings for many and back to school and work. Here's our look back and forward:

Pop Up Family Fun & Market

This took place at Denbies Wine Estate on Sunday 18th August and was our second Pop Up Family event and was such a great day.

We had over 700 visitors who visited for a fantastic day of family fun, creativity, and discovery with a variety of free activities for all ages to get involved. These included creativity tables, storytelling, mosaic workshops, T-shirt painting, temporary glitter tattoos and vintage games outside, with grab a veg/ duck hosted by our chosen charity Dylan Strong Foundation

I Do Handmade Soiree

We were invited by Becky from I do Handmade Small Biz Party. This was a chance for both of us to be able to chat with those there about our businesses giving advice to help increase your sales in person. Rob represented Dapper & Suave – showcasing a selection of our quirky and colourful handmade suit accessories, whilst Jason talked to visitors about Curated by Dapper and Suave organising Pop up Shopping Markets.

There were talks throughout the night from small business owners hosted by Angellica Bell to help those there feel inspired, motivated and ready for the busy season ahead with actionable ideas to help keep your business moving forwards. We even got a chance to get creative whilst having chats too including bracelet bead making and bookmark painting.

There was live music and headshot photo opportunities. Images: Emily Jane Morgan 📷
